What makes other collars toxic?
Many traditional flea collars use synthetic pesticides like tetrachlorvinphos (TCVP) and propoxur, which are designed to kill pests but can also be absorbed through a dog’s skin. These chemicals can leave residue that transfers to your hands, furniture, and even children when they pet the dog. They’re also known to cause skin irritation, itching, and hair loss in sensitive dogs. Some have been flagged by consumer safety groups and veterinary toxicologists for potential neurological and hormonal side effects with long-term exposure.
A natural, plant-based collar works by repelling pests instead of poisoning them, offering protection without the toxic load.
